Dog training and animal behavior modification counseling at Two Dogs & A Goat goes well beyond
the basics of "Sit", "Stay", and "Come". Charlotte Reed combines positive reinforcement
techniques to train and solve canine behavioral problems. Reed ‘s goal is to teach the human
student to think like a dog so that he can become the leader in his dog’s life.
Pet owners will learn that tone of voice; body language; environmental factors; food as a
motivator not an enabler; vocabulary; and breed characteristics are important factors when
learning to train your dog. Training sessions will occur indoors and outdoors as well as on and
off leash. Training sessions with an emphasis on city living are designed for each client and
their specific canine. All family members are encouraged to participate.
Charlotte, the author of The Miss Fido Manners Complete Book of Dog Training (Adams Media, 2007), has added
a pet etiquette class to her dog training syllabus because students needed guidance in how to apply
their training skills to good manners, social graces and conventional behavior norms. Clients rave
about the "Pet Etiquette: Having a Well-Mannered Pooch" class because it is where dog training meets
real life.
Reed, a graduate of the ASPCA’s Companion Animal Services Apprenticeship Dog Training Program, has
attended the animal behavior-counseling program of the University of South Hampton’s New College,
Great Britain. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She understands the importance of properly
caring for your dog by training for fun and safety. Reed is insured for all pet care services.
The training price for an onsite visit is $150.00 for a sixty (60) minute session and for a telephone
consultation, the price is $75.00 per hour.
Moreover, Ms. Reed also works with cats. It is important to note that working with cats is not like
working with dogs. Dogs form social hierachies or a pack structure which their owners can be taken
advantage of, by placing themselves at the pinacle and acting like top dog; cats form social groups
by necessity and respect territory. Many people mistakenly believe that they can train cats like
dogs. If your cat is having behavioral issues (inappropriate elimination, scratching, and displaying
agression), please contact us. The training price for an onsite visit is $175.00 for a sixty (60)
minute session and for a telephone consultation, the price is $100.00 per hour.
